WCAC 2011-12 Swim Team Information
Welcome to the 2011-12 WCAC Swim Team! It is going to be another great year for our swimmers!
If you are new to our program, please attend an evaluation on EITHER Friday, September 23 @ 6pm or Saturday, September 24 @ 10 am for practice group placement.
WCAC has five different practice groups. Once placed in assigned practice group it is important to attend that groups practice times only. Placement is based on ability levels and as such practices are prepared for each groups swimming ability. If a swimmer appears ready to switch practice groups, WCAC Aquatics Director, Brian Hecker, will discuss with the swimmer's parent before a change is made.
WCAC participates in the Suburban Aquatic League (SAL), a competitive league with 22 teams in Montgomery, Bucks and Delaware Counties. We are in the Central division with five regular season dual meets beginning in early November and concluding in December. Early January features two cross division dual meets with date, time and location of those meets determined in January.
The SAL features two championship meets. The Mike Kennedy Memorial Meet or League Champs is the first weekend in February at LaSalle University. The SAL maintains a list of the top 50 times in each event and age group. this list can be found at www.suburbanaquatic.org
Division champs are held in late January. The division championship meet is comprised of all swimmers in the central division. Swimmers may compete in both the division and league champs, however, between the two meets a total of three individual events and two relays may be swum. A swimmer may not swim an event at the division champs that they qualified in at the league champs. This meet concludes the season for those swimmers.

In addition to the dual meets scheduled throughout the season, SAL offers invitational meets on various Sundays sponsored by different SAL swim teams. WCAC encourages our swimmers to participate in these meets. Swimmers choose what events they would like to swim weeks prior to the meet. This gives swimmers the opportunity to try new events or improve their times. Times swum at the invitationals count toward the SAL top 50 list.
WCAC offers a US swim program for swimmers interested in participating in longer distances and stronger competition. Please visit the USA swimming page of our website for more information.
